 Hi there!
My name is Angel Huntington-Ortega and I am a California state and nationally certified massage therapist. I have been told I have a nurturing touch and really enjoy helping people to feel more comfortable and relaxed in their bodies. I graduated from the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville in 2006. I started working in the massage field immediately and fell in love with "spa culture". I took a job at a fancy spa in San Francisco and delighted in learning things like how to give an elaborate salt scrub, and working in the "wet room". I was so taken by this environment of decadent pampering in fact, that I became interested in making my very own spa products. I thought for sure I could make delicious smelling things that were great for our bodies and the environment, so I started AngelMade Eco Spa in 2007. In my own journey as a mother I became increasingly interested in providing support for women during their birthing years. I am certified in pre/post natal massage by the amazing Carol Osborn-Sheets. I think massage can be very beneficial for relieving some of the normal, yet uncomfortable conditions of pregnancy like swelling, aches and pains, soreness, and sleeplessness. Furthermore, I find receiving massage after birthing even more helpful (than getting massaged when pregnant). I am confident that massage can help my clients with the immense physiological, hormonal and emotional changes that come with the transition of birth. Another passion of mine is hot stone massage and if you have never had one, I highly recommend you try it (provided you like heat, and you do not have any heart/circulation problems or diabetes). The soothing, penetrating warmth of basalt stones can bring a deeper sense of relaxation and amazing relief for chronically sore areas like the back, shoulders and neck.
